I understand that obviously this wouldn’t be good, but I was wondering what would be the exact effects of someone who doesn’t have diabetes taking the insulin injection?
By the way, I’m writing a book that this question is relevant to – I’m not planning on doing anything as silly as that myself.
The recipients blood sugar would drop like a stone resulting in hypoglycaemia, possibly coma and even death depending on the amount given.I remember years ago in murder mysteries it was used as a method of murder because insulin is a naturally occurring substance and its presence in the body would go unnoticed. These days though with the advances in modern science it can be easily detected.

We’ve just found out that my sister’s dog is diabetic. He’s about eight years old and my dad just thought he was getting old so he put that down to the weight loss but lately he’s been throwing up so we took him to the vet. P.J will go blind no matter what we do but should we keep up the treatment with him until his time or would it be better for him to euthanize him.
I’d ask your vet what the chances are that the dog can be returned to some level of good health. While they do not have magic balls they can see in to predict the future- many times they have a gut feeling about how far gone a pet’s health is and the chances of recovery. My husband is a vet and is asked many times- “What would you do if this was your pet?” He gives an honest answer- even if it is hard to hear

You encounter a diabetic who is acting reathe strangely. You suspect that her blood sugar level is Low.
the best thing to give them is orange juice. If they can drink. If they are unconcious do not put anything in the mouth, you don’t want them to choke. If they are unconcious call 911 right away. If you given them juice they should perk up. And be sure to check their blood sugar regularly for a time after this. All diabetics will have a blood sugar monitor to use.

Is its purpose one-more proactive measure to prevent an illness? Or does it put a diabetic in the ICU? Do people still die from the flu? Can the flu kill a type 1 diabetic?
Oh, excuse me – - I get how that reads now. I meant does the flu put someone in the ICU, not the shot.
YES people die from the flu, last year 30,000 people died from the flu, it is no laughing matter. Diabetics are at greater risk because their immune system is already depressed and they do not recover from the damage the flu can do to their systems. It is vital for anyone with a chronic health issue to have a flu shot. Flu shots do not put anyone in the ICU, unless they are allergic to eggs, the vaccine is made using eggs. Flu shots cannot give anyone the flu because there is NO live virus in the injectable vaccine.
