What should I do for my project on Diabetes?
For Health class I need to put together a project on diabetes, and I need some ideas of what I can do for it.
Get the following information:
what diabetes is
what can cause it
the difference between type 1 and type 2
how it is treated and who invented the treatment
what the symptoms are
you could go through Y!A and see if there is anyone you could interview with a couple of brief questions like "what type do you have?" "how old were you when you were diagnosed?" "how has diabetes affected your everyday life?"
then compile your information into a pamphlet or poster.
good luck!

Here are some of the symptoms:
1. Loosing weight suddenly.
2. Frequent urination.
3. Always very thirsty.
4. Dire need to eat, always hungry.
5. Blurred vision.
6. Itching of the skin.
7. Numbness in extremities (arms & lags).
8. Slow healing of wounds.
9. Vaginal yeast infection.
10. Fatigue.
11. Irritability and changes in ones mood.
These are only indicative and not conclusive. Sometimes diabetes can be without symptoms also. You will be said to have diabetes if you sugar level remains high normally. It is confirmed by testing your blood and urine sugar levels after an overnight fast and again after food/sugar syrup. If there is no sugar in your urine it is called diabetes insipidus.

I could give you my e-mail address and you could ask me a few questions on diabetes. I have Type 1, and I'd be more than happy too! I don't bite :]
I hope that didn't sound too creepy…O_o
