Can a diabetic and cholesterol patients eat special K cereal daily in the morning?
my mom is a diabetic and a cholesterol patient too…she likes eating special K cereal,is it good to take, please post me the answer.
The way to tell is to use her meter and test her blood. Test her blood fasting right before her first bite, eat and then test again 60 minutes, 90 minutes and at 2 hours after the first bite. If any of the after readings are more than 40 mg/dl or 2.2 mmol/l higher than the pre meal number that breakfast has to many carbohydrates for her to eat without causing her blood glucose to go to high.
